As I think about coaching new teams that must come together to build amazing products, I’ve been trolling TED.com for more ideas to use in coaching these teams. Trust must be present for new teams to pose ideas without fear, to doubt their assumptions and mental models, and to collaborate with honest ‘creative abrasion’ (that’s a different TED Talk). With trust, they can find new solutions, love the process, and love the results.
The same holds true in a 1-on-1 coaching relationship. Trust is crucial… to uncover the internal roadblocks, to try out new behaviors, and to believe that the process of coaching can unleash your true potential.
